Cecil Davis

Cecil Davis has dedicated more than four decades to the HVAC industry as a technician, business owner, educator, and program leader. Originally from the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area, Cecil relocated to Olathe, Kansas, in 1985. He attended Johnson County Community College, where he began his formal training in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. 

Cecil's career has been centered in residential and light commercial HVAC. He began his professional journey with Neal Harris Heating, Cooling and Plumbing in Kansas City's Waldo neighborhood. During his tenure, he advanced from Planned Service Technician to Demand Service Technician before ultimately serving as Service and Installation Manager. His hands-on technical expertise and leadership helped lay the foundation for a successful career in the HVAC industry. 

In 2007, Cecil partnered to purchase a small heating and cooling company that became Anthony Plumbing, Heating and Cooling. Under their leadership, the company experienced remarkable growth, expanding to more than 70 employees by 2012. After selling his ownership interest, Cecil transitioned into education, joining Metropolitan Community College's Business and Technology Campus as an HVAC instructor. There, he taught both foundational and advanced residential HVAC courses, preparing the next generation of HVAC professionals. 

In 2014, Cecil was appointed Program Coordinator for the HVAC Department at Metropolitan Community College, where he continues to lead curriculum development, strengthen industry partnerships, and expand opportunities for students pursuing careers in the skilled trades. 

While serving in higher education, Cecil also founded Ultra Heating and Cooling in 2016. The company grew to employ 12 team members while serving homeowners throughout the greater Kansas City area. After nearly a decade of successful operation, Ultra Heating and Cooling was sold in 2025. 

Cecil holds a Master Mechanical License and remains passionate about advancing the HVAC profession through education, mentorship, and workforce development. He resides in Olathe, Kansas, with his wife of 47 years. Outside of work, he enjoys long-distance backpacking and bikepacking. His most recent adventure in 2026 was cycling from Kansas City to St. Louis along Missouri's historic Katy Trail.
